Susan has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Iowa and extensive coursework in linguistics, languages, and library and information science. She has five years of experience teaching French, rhetoric, communications, nonfiction writing, and business communication at the college level and about ten years of freelance academic editing experience. She grew up in St. John's, Newfoundland, and has lived in four different countries and six states. She speaks French as well as some Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Italian, and German and is currently focusing on learning Chinese characters. Susan lives in Maine with her husband and three children.
